The Arkansas Fallen Heroes Memorial started out in October of 2005 as a memorial ride to honor Lcpl Brian Chase Hopper, Kia in Iraq on Jan. 26, 2005. Our goal was to raise funds to purchase a bronze field cross to place in Brian’s hometown of Wynne, Arkansas. It took two years to accomplish this but we didn’t want to stop there. It just didn’t seem right to do this for just one and that’s when we decided to honor all the fallen heroes that have ties to Arkansas that we have sadly lost in the Global War on Terrorism. The memorial run in 2007 and 2008 were held in Cross County Arkansas at Village Creek State Park. The 2009 Arkansas Fallen Heroes Memorial Motorcycle Run was moved to central Arkansas where 525 registered motorcyclist escorted 140 Gold Star family members to Toad Suck Park near Conway, AR. And the best year yet was 2010 where 617 registered riders escorted 208 Gold Star family members to Toad Suck where they witnessed a very honorable memorial service.

We also have a travelling memorial flag field which includes a 3’x5’ American flag for each fallen hero. In front of each flag is a post with a picture and short story of each fallen hero. This is a walk through memorial where not only do you read names but also you are able to see their face. This memorial flag field had travelled across Arkansas to numerous cities and towns and will continue so more citizens can learn about the Fallen Heroes from Arkansas.

Our goal in to raise funds by donations to build a permanent memorial that will replicate the memorial flag field and be placed in Jacksonville, AR at the museum of Military History.
